    Sunday, Oct. 2 will be a historic day for Suffolk athletics as the 2016 women’s golf team will take to the green for the first time in the school’s history. The Rams will go head-to-head versus Rhode Island at the Valley Country Club in Warwick, Rhode Island. Tee time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

    Taking to the links for the very first time, the Suffolk women’s golf team took on Rhode Island College in a head-to-head match at Valley Country Club. The Rams’ squad could not overcome the veteran Anchorwomen, however, as the hosts outshot Suffolk, 424-504.

    Suffolk Athletics just got bigger as the Rams will now have a chance to compete in six new varsity sport programs Director of Athletics Cary McConnell announced Monday afternoon. Women’s golf and men’s and women’s indoor and track and field will begin this coming academic year, while women’s hockey will have a two-year build in period with an anticipated first varsity season of 2018-19.
