Suffolk University Athletic Training

Athletic Training Mission Statement
The Athletic Training Department supports the ongoing education of Varsity student-athletes through the Suffolk University Athletics Department’s mission with a commitment to the student-athlete’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The Athletic Training Department is dedicated towards providing a safe, effective, high quality health care system for the student-athlete with a focus on accurate diagnosis and treatment grounded in evidence based foundations. This is achieved through the Rams Athletic Training Staff, along with licensed, certified athletic trainers, orthopedic surgeons and physicians holding specialty degrees.

The Athletic Training Department is proud to be affiliated with the Massachusetts General Hospital Sports Medicine Center, which gives Suffolk’s student-athletes access to world class resources including appropriate referrals, restoration and improvement of health and well-being, enhancement of student-athlete performance and implementation of collaborative preventive measures. MGH Sports Medicine & Sports Physical Therapy, which provides the medical care for the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and the New England Revolution, is just steps away from the Rams home – the Ridgeway Building.

Suffolk’s Athletic Training Department embraces the significance of its student-athlete’s well-being and provides the upmost medical care.

The Athletic Training Room is located in the Athletic Department on the second floor of the Ridgeway Building, Room 209.

Day-to-day hours will be determined by the Athletic Training Staff prior to early arrival in August.

The Athletic Training Room is open two hours prior to all athletic competitions at Larry E. Smith & Michael S. Smith Court – volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball – and is equipped with state-of-the-art therapy modalities.
