BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball's is set to start its quest on the road to a Conference of New England (CNE) crown Tuesday, Feb. 25 when it heads to Roger Williams for first round action. The sixth-seeded Rams are scheduled to take on the third-seeded Hawks at 7:30 p.m.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk has never missed a league tournament since 1995-96 and will begin its 29th consecutive trip, fourth straight CNE postseason (formerly CCC) Tuesday.

Amanda DeAngelis came up huge on both sides of the ball in the final 30 seconds to push Suffolk women's basketball to an 80-79 regular-season finale win over Nichols Saturday afternoon at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk ended the regular-season on a high note as it defeated Nichols, 80-79, to move to 13-12 on the year and taking momentum into the CNE Tourney.  

Amanda DeAngelis averages a near double-double of 15.2 ppg and 9.6 rpg to anchor the Rams' in both categories. Colby Guinta provides double figures to the 65.9 ppg offense output with 14.5 ppg to her credit. Defensively, the junior pulls down 5.9 rpg, good for second on the squad. Jordan Moreau and Maddie Stewart supply 9.7 ppg and 8.5 ppg, respectively, to the scoring effort. 

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HAWKS
Roger Williams snuck by the University of New England, 65-63, in overtime to end its regular-season 17-8 overall.  

Sophia Coppola 's 15.2 ppg leads the Hawks' 68.1 ppg effort that receives 12.3 ppg from Elizabeth Dufrane, who also sets up the scoring with 3.8 apg. Chloe Richardson registers 9.8 ppg and Lilli Clark chips in 9.0 ppg to round out the top four scoring threats.  

Clark pulls down a team-best 7.0 rpg to pace RWU on the boards. Coppola adds 5.8 rpg to the team's 39.4 rpg effort.  

WE MEET AGAIN
Roger Williams bested Suffolk in the two regular-season games. The Hawks came back to slip by the Rams, 67-62, Jan. 4, before they ran by the blue-and-gold, 71-59 in Boston, Feb. 1.
