Suffolk volleyball rewrote its record books Saturday afternoon as it captured its 21st win of the season behind a 3-0 victory over Mass Maritime at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center. The record-setting triumph came by set scores 25-14, 25-23 and 25-7.

RAMS RUNDOWN
The Rams have rattled off seven straight victories to bring its season record to 21-4, making the 2024 edition of Suffolk women's volleyball the winningest team in a single-season in program history. In CNE contests, the blue-and-gold is 3-2.  

McKenna Keowen continues to anchor the Rams' offense with 3.41 kills per set (kps) and 0.66 aces per set. Sami Shore supplies 2.47 kps to the attack that is primary set up by Jayla Martinez 6.08 assists per set, while Aislinn Lanigan provides 3.65 assists per set.

Morgan Kelsey paces the defensive unit with 4.40 digs per set (dps). Keowen provides 3.48 dps and Shore leads the way at the net with 0.75 blocks per set (bps).

LEOPARDS LOOK

Wentworth fell at Brandeis Friday night, 3-1, to move to 14-9 on the year. The Leopards are 4-1 in CNE action with victories of Western New England (3-1), Roger Williams (3-2), Curry (3-0), and Gordon (3-1) and a 3-1 loss to Endicott.  

Kate McLane and Emma Sanders provide a one-two punch attack wise for WIT with 3.35 kps and 2.92 kps, respectively. Olivia Vaughn takes on the bulk of the setter's role with 8.29 assists per set and Gianna Cefau adds 5.78 assists per set. 

Sydney Brooke, who is the biggest serving threat with 1.33 aces per set, leads the defense with 3.33 dps. Amanda Zweifler produces 3.27 dps and Riley Schoonmaker's 0.56 bps leads the way at the net.

  • Suffolk looks to snap a 14-match skid versus Wentworth. 
  • The Rams are 6-16 all-time against the Leopards. 
  • Suffolk is 4-7 versus WIT at home and 2-9 against the Leopards on the road.
