BOSTON – Now sitting in second-place in the GNAC standings, the Suffolk women's tennis team looks to carry its winning momentum in action Monday afternoon as it heads to Albertus Magnus for a 1 p.m. match.

LAST TIME OUT
In a crucial GNAC match, the Suffolk women's tennis team maintained its composure to stun Johnson & Wales, 5-4, Saturday night thanks to stellar singles play from Isabel Rathlev


With the score level at 4-all, Rathlev, a sophomore in the fifth position, took down Victoria Pizzulo, 7-5, 6-3, to lift the Rams to victory. With the win, the blue-and-gold move to 3-1 in GNAC play, good for second in the conference's standing behind the league's leader Simmons at 5-0. Overall, Suffolk sits at 7-4.

RUN DOWN ON THE RAMS
For the third time this season Suffolk has won back-to-back contests looking for its third straight. 

Valentina Medina continues her perfection play in singles action as the sophomore is 11-0 overall seeing action at No. 1 (2-0) and No. 2 (9-0). Aidiana Sagyndykova has also been radiant for the Rams as the junior is 10-1 overall trading time with Medina on the top two courts. 

Medina has been the main ingredient to significant Suffolk doubles teams as she has paired up with Sagyndyova and Abby Trigilio. When taking the court with Sagyndykova, the duo is 3-0 exclusively as the top tandem. Trigilio has paired with Medina solely in the second slot for a 7-1 record. 

FACTS ON THE FALCONS
After putting together four straight wins, Albertus Magnus has sandwiched a win around two defeats with its most recent match coming in the form of a 9-0 setback at Simmons. With a 6-4 overall record and 1-3 mark in the GNAC, the Falcons sit sixth place entreating the final week of action. 

Zaida Velazco is Albertus Magnus' ace and sports a 7-3 mark with Alicia Weaver (No. 2) and Izzy Sabino (No. 3) rounding out the top-half of the line-up for the Falcons with 5-5 and 7-3 records, respectively. Velazco and Weaver team up for the Falcons top tandem and have put together a 5-5 ledger.

ECAC'S BEST OF SEPTEMBER
For her tremendous collegiate start, Valentina Medina added another award to her resume as she was tabbed Corvias ECAC Women's Tennis Division III Co-Rookie of the Month the conference announced Monday afternoon.

ROOKIE RECOGNITION
Valentine Medina was named GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, marking the third time this season she has earned the award and second time in as many weeks.

Medina became the first Suffolk player to be named the best rookie over of a seven-day stretch twice by the conference September 21 and adds to her decorated rookie season with the third nod of the year.
