Suffolk men's cross country got its 2024 campaign underway finished sixth at the 10th annual Wheaton & Babson Season Opener Saturday morning at Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park.
The Rams combined for 138 points to take sixth in the nine-team field that was topped by Holy Cross's 32.

THE FIELD
Eight teams will converge in Middletown, Connecticut. The field includes nationally ranked opponents in No. 17 Amherst and No. 20 Tufts, as well as regionally ranked foes in No. 8 Wesleyan, No. 7 Union and No. 6 Vassar. Also in the line-up joining the Rams will be their Conference of New England (CNE) counterpart Endicott, as well as Union and New Haven.
THE DISTANCE
Suffolk's squad will run an 8k for the first time this season.
COACH'S QUOTE
"We're looking forward to compete at Wesleyan this week," head coach Will Feldman said. "It will be the first time racing there for all of us. The meet itself will be one of the smallest of the season in terms of number of teams competing, but it will be extremely competitive. The goal is for this meet to be an excellent opportunity to prepare for Pre-Nationals in two weeks."

Suffolk men's cross country sits ninth in the East in the Week 1 edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, the national organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
