ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Suffolk men's cross country got its 2024 campaign underway finished sixth at the 10th annual Wheaton & Babson Season Opener Saturday morning at Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park.
The Rams combined for 138 points to take sixth in the nine-team field that was topped by Holy Cross's 32.
SUFFOLK'S SCORERS
- Tim Barry shined for Suffolk as the senior clocked a 16:08.17 5k to finish fifth in the field of 95.
- Sean Jacoben put together a top 20 finish with a time of 16:34.34, good for 18th.
- Hayden Green logged a 16:47.60 time to take 30th.
- Connor Hayward finished 44th with a 17:08.80 showing.
- Cam Fredette (17:30.49), Declan Shannon (18:29.32) and Sebastian Vickers-Richard (19:20.48) rounded out the Rams scorers.
RAMS RECORDS
- Jacobsen (16:34.34) and Matthew McGoldrick (22:22.48) both logged personal-best 5ks.
DEBUTS
- Fredette raced a 5k for the first time in his collegiate career and was one spot out of the top-50 in 51st.
- Both Shannon and Vickers-Richard made their collegiate debuts.

Suffolk is off until Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Cardinal Invitational at The Wes Fuhman '05 Trails Cross Country Course in Middletown, Connecticut.
