BOSTON – Suffolk men's and women's outdoor track & field has one final weekend to prep before championship campaigns commence and the Rams will spend it at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track Saturday, April 23.

Suffolk men's outdoor track & field split up last weekend with the bulk of its roster competing at the Monks Invitational and Michael Balestra represetnign the Rams in winning fashion in the hammer throw at SNHU's Penmen Relays.

The Rams field athletes spent time at SNHU's Penmen Relays last weekend and Suffolk also sent student-athletes to the Monks Invitational.

THE FIELD
Eighteen different teams will converge at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track Saturday. In addition to the Rams, CCC members Endicott, Gordon, Nichols and Roger Williams will compete at MIT. The field also features Amherst, Babson, Fitchburg State, Lasell, Lesley, Mass. Maritime, Mount Holyoke, Rhode Island College and UMass Boston, as well as Division I members Boston University and Harvard and DII's Franklin Pierce.
SUFFOLK SYNOPSIS
- The Rams will rely on the jumpers for big performances. Robert Solari will compete in the high jump for the first time this season, while Carter Nevulis will make his long jump debut.
- On the track, Jadan Wenceslao and Luke Sikora will race their first collegiate steeplechase and attempt to break Justin Turner's school record.
- Caitlyn Filloramo will continue to work towards moving into the top 20 in the nation and a spot at nationals in the hammer throw.
- Olivia Nicholson and Allison Rodrigues aim for some big throws in the javelin with Nicholson attempting to break the 100-foot mark for the first time.
- Klaudia Rushi will race for the first time this season. She will attempt the race and challenging 100m hurdles and 800 double.
- Katelynn Brunt will join Rushi in the 800 and will look to move into the top five in the CCC in the event.
RAMS RECOGNITION [ MEN ]
Michael Balestra of the Suffolk men's outdoor track & field team captured Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in as many weeks thanks to his effort at the Penmen Relays Saturday, the league office announced.

RAMS RECOGNITION [ WOMEN ]
Suffolk women's outdoor track & field's fielders Allison Rodrigues and Caitlyn Filloramo were recognized for their efforts at the Penmen Relays with weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Rodrigues grabbed field athlete, while Filloramo threepeated as the league's field rookie of the week, the conference office unveiled.
