BOSTON – Suffolk men's and women's indoor track & field will be divided between two local meets for its 2019-20 debut, the Emmanuel Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center and Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.

RAPID REWIND
Suffolk competed in its first true varsity indoor season a year ago with individuals making impacts on the regional and national level highlighted by Emily Manfra's All-American showing in the mile. Emma Weisse and Matyas Csiki-Fejeralso reached the national stage with the Rams' goal to see more student-athletes punch their tickets to the tournament this season.
SCHEDULE SYNOPSIS
Suffolk is set for its second full season in 2019-20 with 11 events leading up to a championship calendar that features the inaugural GNAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
GNAC GREATS
Suffolk has the chance to claim conference crowns this season for the first time in program history as the league will host the inaugural GNAC Indoor Track & Field Championship Sunday, Feb. 16 at Boston University.

RAMS RETURNERS[ MEN ]
With a young season a year ago, nearly very student-athlete from the inaugural campaign is back in blue-and-gold with a trio of sophomores in Matyas Csiki-Fejer, Michael Balestra and Robert Solari highlighting the Rams back.
Csiki-Fejer will look to repeat his freshman campaign in which he made it to nationals, while Balestra and Solari will each attempt to find their spots in the regional field for the first time in their careers. Balestra competes in throwing and Solari will concentrate on the high jump this season.

Highlighting the baker's dozen back in blue-and-gold this season for the women is distance runner, a 2019 All-American, Emily Manfra, thrower Allison Rodrigues, and sprinter Mariama Kamara.

On the even of its 2019-20 season debut, Suffolk's men's indoor track & field head coach Will Feldman unveiled that a quartet of sophomores will share leadership responsibilities with Michael Balestra, Matyas Csiki-Fejer, Robert Solari and Hunter Toyoda each earning the role of captain.

GEOGRAPHY 101 [ MEN ]
The bulk of the Rams' men's roster is Bay State locals with 19 runners hailing from Massachusetts. A pair of Suffolk student-athletes are Connecticut natives with one competitor from California, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Washington. The remaining Ram, Guilaume Glaudel, has brought his talent to Beantown from France.
GEOGRAPHY 101 [ WOMEN ]
Suffolk's 23 competitors represent national and international regions with natives of seven states and Kenya (Mebra Lubukha) all on roster. The bulk of the Rams call Massachusetts home with 15 Bay State locals. A pair comes from Connecticut with one student-athlete from California, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.
CLASS CATEGORIES[ MEN ]
Will Feldman's young squad is built by 90 percent (27-30) of underclassmen nearly split in half between sophomores (14) and true freshmen (13). There is one member of the junior and senior classes, respectively, with one graduate student competing for the Rams as well.
CLASS CATEGORIES [ WOMEN ]
There is a wealth of experience and excited newcomers building the Rams' roster with six upperclassmen complement by 17 underclassmen. There are 10 true freshmen, seven sophomores and three members of the junior and senior classes, respectively.
COACH'S CORNER
Will Feldman returns for his third year at the helm of the Suffolk cross country and track & field programs.
Feldman has brought in helpful hands to aid in coaching in Josh Brodin, Zeke Smith (distance), Daniel Hutchinson (jumps & sprints) and Tim Morse (throws).
EYES ON THE EMMANUEL INVITATIONAL
Over 100 teams will converge on the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center Saturday. Suffolk will be joined across town by a handful of GNAC counterparts including the hosts Emmanuel, Lasell, Regis and Saint Joseph's (Maine).
On the women's side, Ram Nation is encouraged to keep an eye out for Marin Stamer and Olivia Chilcott in the mile, Mariama Kamara in the 60 M dash and Allison Rodrigues in the shot put.
For the men, Hunter Toyoda and Cole Bolduc will race for a place at New England Championships in the mile, while Michael Balestra is shooting to qualify in the weight throw. Connor Baston is making his collegiate debut in the 60 M and the men's 4x400 relay team will go head-to-head with conference counterparts from both the GNAC and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), which Suffolk is set to join in 2020-21.
