Quartet to Captain Men’s Indoor Track & Field

BOSTON – On the eve of its 2019-20 season debut, Suffolk men's indoor track & field head coach Will Feldman unveiled that a quartet of sophomores will share leadership responsibilities with Michael BalestraMatyas Csiki-FejerRobert Solari and Hunter Toyoda each earning the role of captain.

"The men will be led by a terrific group of sophomores," Feldman said. "We're fortunate to have four young men who lead by example and are able to set the tone for our freshmen. Not only are they four of our top performers, but they are also the hardest workers on the team. The can be relied on to give their best effort every day at practice and on meet day."

Balestra anchors the throwers, Solari headlines the sprinters and jumpers with Csiki-Fejer and Toyoda holding down the distance runners.

Feldman continued, "Robert (Solari) brings amazing energy every day, and his positivity is infections. Michael (Balestra) and Hunter (Toyoda) have a businesslike approach and hold themselves and the team to a high standard. Matyas (Csiki-Fejer) pushes himself to the limit every single day, and is fearless on race day. His competitive ness and desire to be better inspires the rest of the team."

The foursome looks to lead Suffolk into its first-ever team championship season with the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) set for Sunday, Feb. 16 at Boston University.

Suffolk opens its third season this weekend as it splits up for a pair of events: the Emmanuel Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center, and Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
