Men’s Golf Closes Fall at NEIGA Championships


BOSTON – The Suffolk men's golf team will take the course once more in 2017 as the Rams via for the NEIGA Championship over the weekend at Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's golf team shot a collective 640 to claim sixth, the team's best finish since 2014, at the 2017 GNAC Men's Golf Championship Oct. 14-15 at the Valley Country Club hosted by Johnson & Wales.

ABOUT THE NEIGA
The New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) is a non-profit organization, which was first organized in 1934 at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown, Massachusetts. NEIGA is believed to be the largest gathering of collective players from all levels of NCAA competing at the same location on a 36-hole layout. There are currently 46 New England colleges and universities as members of the NEIGA.

THE COURSE
Two championship golf courses at one location lie in the Captains Golf Course. Together, the par-72 Port Course and the par-72 Starboard Course deliver 36 holes. 

A YEAR AGO
The Rams finished the two-day competition with 661 strokes to place 16th among the 22 Division III teams in the field. Babson won the event with a 617 card, followed by Husson (624), Nichols (633), Tufts (635) and Western New England (635) in the top five.
