Men’s Golf Concludes Fall at 83rd Annual NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Suffolk men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2017-18 slate with a 12th-place showing at the 83rd annual NEIGA Championships at The Captains Golf Course.

Suffolk's card of 646 was good for 12th, tying Southern Maine, while Husson took home the crown. The Eagles shot just 10 strokes above par finishing 11 points ahead of runner-up Rhode Island College.

For the third consecutive campaign, Stephen Ferrante paced the Rams' contingent. The junior followed up an 81 day-one performance with a 76 card on day for a total, good for a tie for 34th out of a field of 92.

The similar results from a year ago continued as Owen Boggini finished second on Suffolk's squad. He tallied a 79 followed by an 81 to put the sophomore in a tie for 42nd.

Andrew Harper's 162 thanks to scores of 83 and 79, respectively, put the sophomore in a tie for 49th.

Elias Sachs and Demetrious Stamoulis rounded out the golfers in blue and gold. Sachs posted a 167, while Stamoulis shot a 179.

The Rams will take the winter off before returning to the green for the annual three-tournament spring series.
