CCC MEN'S PREVIEW | CCC WOMEN'S PREVIEW
BOSTON – Suffolk's cross country teams take their talents to Biddeford, Maine, this weekend along with its league counterparts for the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Saturday, Oct. 29. Action at Rotary State Park begins with the women's 6k at 12:00 p.m. with the men's 8k gun following an hour later.

CCC CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The CCC has crowned a cross country champion dating back to 1998 for the women and 2000 for the men with the exception of the 2020 season for both sides due to COVID-19.

- On the women's side, Salve Regina has eight crowns. The Seahawks won their last in 2018, before the University of New England captured the 2019 championship, the Nor'Easters fifth overall. Gordon has also won the meet five times over the last 22 seasons.
- Suffolk's women have raced one and has one title, the 2021 crown.
- Suffolk's men finished as the 2021 runner-up in its debut in the meet a year ago.

RAMS AT CCCs
- Suffolk's women claimed the 2021 CCC Championship by a narrow 73-76 margin over the University of New England.
- The Rams men finished second in their inaugural CCC race behind Roger Williams last season.
- Matyas Csiki-Fejer cruised to an individual title a year ago in the men's 8k. He led a trio of Rams runners to a spot on the All-CCC team, which is awarded to the top 15 finishers. Nic Malm (27:14) and Thomas Novy(28:02) earned an all-league nod as well.
- Gwen Koziara (24:06), Sydney Fogg (24:08) and Skyler Spanbauer (25:11) all put together top-15 performances for the women. Both Koziara and Fogg came through the chute one after another in fourth and fifth, respectively.

CCC COMPETITION [ MEN ]
- Suffolk is the only team ranked regionally by the USTFCCCA at No. 10 in the East heading into Saturday.
- Roger Williams looks to defend its title from a year ago.
- The Hawks have the top runner in the league on paper, but the Rams race a deeper team with a strong pack that will bunched in the front.
RAMS RUNDOWN [ MEN ]
- Tim Barry and Thomas Novy will be in the individual title hunt as well as the junior and sophomore shoot for podium finishes.
- Hayden Green and Sean Jacobsen look to take a spot in the top-10 overall.

"The upperclassmen have been waiting for this meet for an entire year," head coach Will Feldman said. "They feel like they let last year's championship slip through their fingers and they've been focused on not letting that happen again."
CCC COMPETITION [ WOMEN ]
- In the women's race two teams are featured in the latest USTFCCCA Regional Rankings. The University of New England sits ninth, while Suffolk rounds out the top 10.
- Roger Williams is a top center as well and will likely earn a spot on the podium.
RAMS RUNDOWN [ WOMEN ]
- Ellie Davis and Skyler Goodman will be racing with an individual title as their goal.
- Katelyn Brunt and Sydney Fogg should be close behind Davis and Goodman in the top-10 mix.
- Sarah Roberts has been asked to step up all season for the Rams and has delivered. She should be the fifth or sixth Ram to cross the tape, but has consistently placed in front of the fourth runner out of all competitions this year. She's been the blue-and-gold's unsung hero and a huge difference maker in tight races.

"I genuinely believe we have the best team in the conference a top-5 team in the region when we race our best," head coach Will Feldman said. "This will be the first time that we've raced our full group this season. We've strategically rested folks along the way to peak this weekend.
RANK AND FILE
Both of Suffolk's squad sat 10 in the latest USTFCCCA regional rankings in the East. The Rams men have been the only CCC team to make the list this season, while the blue-and-gold women have been joined by UNE, who is ninth, in nearly every poll.
