CCC Champions! Women’s Cross Country Repeats as League Champions

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – For the second year in a row, Suffolk women's cross country earned the top place on the podium at the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship.

The Rams ran to 33 points in the 6k race at Rotary State Park to top the eight-team field en route to its second CCC crown in as many seasons competing on the conference's championship course. Unlike a year ago, the blue-and-gold was no doubt the best of the league this season as the second-place team, the University of New England, was 41 points behind Suffolk. Roger Williams was five points shy of the Nor'Easteres to complete the team podium.

Individually, Suffolk had six of its top seven runners garner All-CCC recognition with a finish in the top 15. The five all-league honorees are hands down the most for the Rams in a single season in program history.

Katelynn Brunt compiled a personal-best 6k time of 23:45.0 to finish third overall in the 87-runner field. The third-place individual finish is the highest of any Ram at the CCC Championship in program history. Time wise, the sophomore set a new Suffolk record at the conference championship.

Close behind in fifth place was Ellie Davis as the graduate transfer came through the chute in 24:00.7.

Skyler Goodman and Amy Pattelena finished one after another in seventh and eighth, respectively. Goodman clocked a 24:21.7, while Pattenlena put together a career-best 24:27.4 showing.

Sarah Roberts' personal-record of 24:38.0 was good for 10th with Sydney Fogg securing 11th behind her time of 24:48.5.

Jocelyn Triscik crossed the tape in a personal-best time of 26:20.3 to take 27th and Christina Baggitt's 27:34.8 time, good for 43rd, rounded out Suffolk's scorers.

April Banuelos (28:38.9) and Sarah Forrister competed in Vacation Land as well with the latter producing a personal-best of 29:41.4.

Suffolk will look to build off the conference title and hopefully grab regional glory at the 2022 NCAA Division III East Championship Saturday, Nov. 12 at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
