Cross Country’s Manfra Heads to NCAA DIII Nationals


BOSTON – Emily Manfra of the Suffolk women's cross country team is Winneconne, Wisconsin bound as the junior will represent the Rams at the NCAA Division III National Championships Saturday, Nov. 17 at Lake Breeze Golf Club.

NATIONAL NOTES

  • A total of 64 men's and women's cross country teams will partake in the championships.
  • Along with the 32 seven-person rosters for each gender, 56 individual qualifier for both will also participated in the final Division III cross country meet of the year.
  • The women's 6,000-meter race is set to begin at 12:15 p.m. with the men's 8,000-meter run following an hour later.
  • Wisconsin Oshkosh is playing host the championships for the third time in the past eight years and fourth overall.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
10 AM
– Spectator Shuttle Service from Winneconne High School Begins
11:50 AM – National Anthem
12:15 PM – Women's 6,000-Meter Race
1:15 PM – Men's 8,000-Meter Race
3:30 PM – Award Ceremony at Kolf Sports Center

MANFRA MENTIONABLES

  • Emily Manfra punched her ticket to the national meet at NCAA DIII Regional as one of the top seven individual student-athletes who are not a part of a qualifying team.
  • She is the first-ever Suffolk student-athlete to compete on the national stage.
  • Manfra, a three-time all-conference honoree, became the first-ever student-athlete, alongside Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the men's team, to garner all-region accolades. 

LAST TIME OUT
Matyas Csiki-Fejer and Emily Manfra of the Suffolk men's and women's cross country teams, respectively, made program history Saturday afternoon as the duo ran two all-region accolades at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals hosted by Bowdoin.
