Cross Country Takes Course at UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday


BOSTON – The Suffolk men's and women's cross country teams are set for their second competition of the 2017 season as the Rams head to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday. The women's 5k course begins at 11:15 a.m., with the men's 8k following at 12 p.m.

THE COMPETITION
Runners from all levels of NCAA Divisions – I, II and III, are headed out to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Overall, 43 men's squads will be represented with 45 women's teams also competing. Joining the Rams from the GNAC are Johnson & Wales, and Saint Joseph (Conn.) (women only).

THE COURSE
Suffolk will be racing it on across the Corsairs campus as both the women's 5k and the men's 8k courses are filtered through the woods and surrounding athletic facilities of UMass Dartmouth. 

LAST TIME OUT – MEN
The Suffolk men's cross country team put a check in the competition column for the first time in 2017 Sept. 2 as the Rams competed at the Roger Williams Invitational.

LAST TIME OUT – WOMEN
Emily Manfra and Emma Weiss picked up right where they left off as the sophomores finished one, two, respectively, at the Roger Williams Invitational to pace the Race in the Suffolk women's cross country 2017 season debut Sept. 2.

RUNNER OF THE WEEK
For the first week of action in 2017, Suffolk women's cross country's Emily Manfra picked up conference recognition as the sophomore was named GNAC Corvias Runner of the Week Sept. 5.

Suffolk takes a break next weekend before heading to Keene, New Hampshire, Saturday, Sept. 30 for the Keene State College Invitational.
