NEWTON, Mass. – Suffolk volleyball opened a tri-match at the Lasell Athletic Center with a 3-0 victory over Pratt Saturday afternoon. The sweep came by set scores 25-20, 25-5 and 25-20.
THE BASICS

RECORDS: Suffolk (17-4) | Pratt (5-11)
SET ONE RECAP (25-20, SUFFOLK)
- Out of a 10-all set, Suffolk went on a 7-1 run to jump ahead 17-11.
- The Cannoneers caught up with a 7-2 stretch of its own to trim the Rams' lead to one, 19-18.
- Out of a Suffolk timeout, the blue-and-gold outscore Pratt, 6-2 to seal the set, 25-10.
SET TWO RECAP (25-5, SUFFOLK)
- The second stanza was all Suffolk as it leapt out to a 15-3 advantage.
- The Rams limited the Cannoneers to just two points the rest of the way to take the lopsided 25-5 frame.
SET THREE RECAP (25-20, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk scored the first 11 points of the set.
- After see-saw action, the Rams remained in front, 16-6.
- Five consecutive points turned it into a 21-6 cushion for the blue-and-gold.
- Pratt battled back with a 14-3 spurt that cut Suffolk's advantage to 24-20.
- Scott Blanchard used a timeout to calm things down.
- A Pratt attack error followed out of the Rams' huddle and Suffolk clinched the sweep.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- McKenna Keowen provided 16 kills, four digs, four aces and one block.
- Sami Shore supplied 10 kills on a .643 attack percentage.
- Jayla Martinez and Aislinn Lanigan set-up the attack with 15 assists and 13 assists, respectively.
- Morgan Kelsey contributed 13 digs and six aces.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk and Pratt met for the first time since 2015 and second time overall.
- The Rams bested the Cannoneers for the second time in as many meetings to move to 2-0 all-time versus Pratt.
