BOSTON – The Suffolk volleyball team will play back-to-back midweek matches as the Rams host Becker Tuesday and visit Simmons Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk volleyball team dropped a tri-match Saturday afternoon with Westfield State and Framingham State. The Rams were defeated by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference schools in straight sets.

RUN DOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk looks for its first victory inside Regan Gymnasium of this season on Tuesday as the Rams also look to snap a three-match skid that put them at 3-9 overall and 1-3 against GNAC competition.

Bridget Allison sits first on the team with 1.95 kps, while Chidera Nwankwo contributes1.79 kps. Liz Kerek dishes out 4.69 apt  to the Rams' 8.42 kps.

Emme Feeney excels defensively for Suffolk as the freshman sports 3.30 dps average and her classmate Talia Lombardo adds 3.21 dps.

HAVE TO KNOWS ABOUT THE HAWKS
Becker swept its home tri-match versus Lyndon State  and Maine Presque Isle with both victories coming in straight sets to level its record at 6-6 overall.

The Hawks boast a balanced attack led by Kayla Dupree (2.17), Marissa Turner (1.92 kps) and Smanatha Caouette (1.49 kps). Charlene Landry has handled the setting responsibilities with 5.13 aps. Brittany Bullis is the go to defender for Becker with 3.64 dps as Dupree leads the charge at the net with 0.46 bps.

SOMETHING 'BOUT THE SHARKS
Simmons has lost five straight to slip to 4-7 overall with its last win coming in its conference opener against the University of St. Joseph to hold a 1-0 GNAC Mark.

Cailin Fredrickson's 3.24 kps paces the Shark offensively with Sarah Woodward (2.10 kps) adding over 2.00 kps to Simmon's attack.  A contingent of Sharks has handed out assists with Andalyn Duke (7.38 aps) and Jessica Phinney (5.20 aps) splitting the majority of the setting duties. Defensively, Kat Guillotte notches 3.73 dps and Abby Hart chips in 0.63 bps.

SERVING UP ACES
Suffolk scored 19 aces in a straight set victory over Massachusetts Maritime, marking the most aces for a Rams' squad since 2011. Freshman Talia Lombardo tallied eight aces in the victory, the most for a Ram since Melissa Griffin '12 served that number in a 3-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene September 22, 2011.

In GNAC action, Suffolk has served 27 aces to lead the league in service aces in GNAC competition.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Rams will make the short trip across the Boston Common to Emerson Saturday for a tri-match with the Lions and Curry. Suffolk will play Colonels at 1 p.m., before taking on the host, Emerson, at 3 p.m.
