BOSTON – The Suffolk women's soccer team begins its quest for its first-ever GNAC Championship Sunday, Oct. 30 when the seventh-seeded Rams travel to No. 2 seed Johnson & Wales in the quarterfinals at the Wildcats Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex. The game is set to begin at 5 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on Stretch Internet.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's soccer team overcame a two-goal, first half deficit and then some Tuesday night as the Rams poured in six second stanza goals to take down the Buccaneers, 6-2, at Clean Harbor Stadium in their regular season finale.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk wrapped up the regular season with the third most victories in the program's 10-year history as the Rams sit at 10-9-0 overall. 

The third ranking in Suffolk's annals seems to be a theme for the Rams as the team's goals (46), assists (33), points (125) and shutouts (6) all land third the team's on the single-season list. Individually, Alexandra Nagri is just three goals shy of tying Suffolk's single season record of 22 as the junior has put away a conference-best 19 scores this season for a league-high 43 points, which ties two other Rams for fourth in a single season. Her classmate counterpart, Jennifer Martin, is also among the league best, scoring 15 goals and notching 32 points, which both rank fifth in the conference. Junior Jessica Harmon has set up the most Suffolk shots with a team-best seven assists, which is good for third amongst conference competition. 

In net, Kirsten Weiker boasts an 8-6-0 ledger with four shutouts to her credit. The sophomore keeper has made 100 saves, but has allowed 30 rocks past for a 2.30 goals-against average and .769 save percentage. 

WILDCAT WAYS
Johnson & Wales (15-2-3) clinched the second seed in the conference tournament thanks to an unbeaten 9-0-2 league ledger. The Wildcats prepped for the postseason tournament with a 4-0 cleansheet at Salem State Tuesday, marking JWU's fourth consecutive shutout and 10th straight victory. In October alone, the Wildcats are undefeated, with eighth of their nine victories coming in shutouts as JWU only gave up one goal in the 10th month of the year. 

Kyra Selner standouts for JWU's well-balanced scoring attack with 39 points thanks to the third most goals amongst the conference, 17, and five assists. Deja Hursey ranks second on the squad with a 22-point effort with 10 goals and two handouts. Overall, the Wildcats have 15 players that have scored this season and 17 that have registered a point. 

Colleen Lynch has been rock steady in goal for JWU. She conference best numbers in goals against (8), goals against-average (0.45), save percentage (.895), wins (15) and shutouts (10).  

WE MEET AGAIN
Six second half goals broke a 1-1 tie and propelled Johnson & Wales past the Suffolk women's soccer team, 7-1, Sept. 28.

EYES ON THE GAME

POST-SEASON PUSH
Suffolk will be making its six appearance and first since 2014 in the GNAC post season tournament. The Rams, who are seeded seventh, will make the trip to second-seeded Johnson & Wales Sunday, Oct. 30 for a 5 p.m. contest. In the conference quarterfinals, Suffolk is 2-3 with one win coming off a shootout. Suffolk has meet JWU once in the playoffs in the quarterfinals in 2011, with the Rams coming out victorious, 1-0. 

SIX SCORES AND FIVE YEARS AGO
Suffolk put away six second-half goals in the regular season finale at Mass. Maritime Oct. 25, marking the most goals for the Rams over 45 minutes since the blue and gold netted seven in the second stanza in a 12-0 win over Anna Maria Oct. 24, 2012.  

STREAKING
Suffolk strung together its fifth straight win Oct. 17, marking the longest streak for the Rams since stringing nine victories together from Sept. 28 – Oct. 6, 2010. 

HATS OFF, AGAIN
Alexandra Nagri notched her third collegiate hat trick against Pine Manor Oct. 17 and second of the season. She is the first Ram to net three goals in two outings over one year since Leslie Hayden netted three hat tricks in 2011. 

Nagri and Jennifer Martin have each accomplished the three-goal game feat this season. 

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
The Rams wrapped up their home slate, 6-2, the best percentage at home since a 6-2-1 ledger on the friendly confines of Suffolk's turf in 2011. The six victories tie a program best and were achieved by the Rams for the third time in the program's 10-year history.  

SCORING FRENZY
In the 9-0 victory Wednesday night at Wheelock, Suffolk poured in the most goals (9) since scoring 12 in a 12-0 shutout win over Anna Maria Oct. 24, 2012. The nine tallies are the fourth most goals all-time in the program's 10-year history, with the Rams' tallying nine goals on two other occasions, both 9-0 wins – Oct. 14, 2009 vs. Mass. Maritime and Oct. 13, 2010 vs. Newbury.

MAGINIFICENT MARTIN
Jennifer Martin, who is the first Ram with a multi-goal game since Alexandra Nagri netted two in the season finale last season at Mount Ida, racked up four tallies in the 9-0 triumph at Wheelock Wednesday. Her offensive outpour, she ties the fourth-most goals in a single-game by a Ram and is the most goals by a Ram since Leslie Hayden and Lauren Cameron netted five and four, respectively at Anna Maria Oct. 10, 2011. The junior is also the first Ram to net a hat trick since Nagri did so in a 4-3 win at St. Joseph (Conn.) Sept. 19, 2015.
