BOSTON – The Suffolk women's hockey turns its attention to New England Hockey Conference competition and is set for a full-weekend of league play when Castleton and Salem State stop by Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink. The Spartans stop by Friday, Jan. 18 for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Vikings set to visit Saturday, Jan. 19 for a 7:30 p.m. showdown.

LAST TIME OUT
Tess Adams made Suffolk women's hockey history as the first-ever skater to record her 100th point, but it was not enough as the Rams fell to Becker, 3-1, Tuesday night at the Fidelity Ice Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk capped off its non-league slate Tuesday night and transitions into conference play at 10-6-1 on the year. The Rams' wrapped up its first-semester NEHC calendar with a 4-2 win at Castleton Dec. 8, 2018 to move to 5-2-1 in conference contests. 

The blue-and-gold's offense is one of the most potent in the league at 2.82 goals per game led by senior forward Tess Adams' 21-point effort on nine markers and 11 handouts. She is one of five skaters to eclipse the double digit point mark followed by Shana Cote (8g, 7a) and Jesse Kennedy (7g, 6a) in the top three.

In net, Kristen Caporusso has handled the majority of the work. The sophomore goaltender holds a .933 save percentage and a 1.63 GAA through 16 appearances and 15 starts in which she put together a 10-4-1 record in between the pipes.

SPARTANS SAYINGS
Castleton has slipped in its last six outings to enter the weekend 4-10-2 on the season and 4-3-1 in NEHC action. 

Jocelyn Forrest (8g, 7a), Aimee Briand (3g, 9a) and Courtney Gauthier (4g, 8a) are the most consistent contributors to the Spartans' 27-goal offense, which has seen 14 skaters record at least one point on the season.

Ryile Wills and Alexis Kalm have split time in net for Castleton. Wills has put together a .920 save percentage and a 2.34 GAA over eight games, all of which she started, while Kalm holds a 3.62 GAA and a .881 save percentage in nine appearances. Each of the Spartans netminders own two victories and one stalemate.

EYES ON THE GAME
 

VIKINGS VIEW
Salem State has recorded a mark in the win, loss and tie column in the New Year to move to 6-8-2 on the season. In conference contests, the Vikings are 3-5-1. Prior to visiting Suffolk Saturday night, SSU will entertain No. 4 Norwich Friday. 

A trio of skaters has hit the double digit point mark for the Vikings led by Kylie Currier's 12 off eight goals and four assists. Jacqueline Sindoris, who is second on the team in points with 11, has matched Currier's eight-goal output and has set-up three shots. Danielle Kelley rounds out the threesome with six strikes and four helpers for 10 points to her credit.

Salem uses the two-headed goalie contingent of Sarah Plourde and Isabelle Woodward to defend the pipes. Plourde boasts a .909 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA, while Woodward holds a .917 save percentage and 2.99 GAA.

Suffolk women's hockey fell on the wrong side of a 6-4 decision as Salem State used two late goals to displace the Rams in NEHC action Nov. 10 at Rockett Arena.

MILESTONE MOMENT
Tess Adams sealed her spot in Suffolk women's hockey's newly designed record book as the senior became the first-ever skater to record her 100th point. She combined her 79 points registered over three seasons at SUNY Canton with 21 through 20 games in the Rams' blue-and-gold to reach the milestone moment on an assist at Becker Jan. 15, 2018. 

CAPORUSSO COLLECTS NEHC WEEKLY ACCOLADE, AGAIN
For the third time this season, Kristen Caporusso of the Suffolk women's hockey team was tabbed NEHC Goaltender of the Week after backstopping the Rams to a 2-1 week.

WHAT'S AHEAD?
Suffolk splits its time at home and on the road next weekend when it entertains UMass Boston and travels to New England College. The Rams first meet the Beacons at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink on Friday, Jan. 25 at 5:45 p.m., before heading to meet the Pilgrims in Henniker, New Hampshire, Saturday, Jan. 26 for a 1 p.m. matchup.
