BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball pulls the curtain back on its 79th season Saturday, Nov. 9 when UMaine Farmington stops by Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a 2:00 p.m. showdown.

RAPID REWIND
A year ago, the Rams assembled the program's fourth-ever 20-win season, first since 2017-18. As the fourth seed, behind a 12-4 league ledger, the blue-and-gold moved on to the semifinals in the CNE (formerly CCC) tournament for the first time in program history. Suffolk slipped to eventual conference champion and tournament top seed Western New England in the semis, 69-51.
WELCOME BACK
A dozen returners are back on roster for Suffolk including 2024 conference player of the Year Amanda DeAngelis (17.8 ppg, 11.8 rpg), as well as usual starters Colby Guinta (9.3 ppg) and Jordan Moreau (10.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg) with Maddie Stewart set to return after a season-ending injury a year ago.
Arlenis Veloz, Aisling Crowley, Claire Berkowitz, Allison Bono, Akiyah Brown, Delaney More, Ava Thurmanand Olivia Verdile back in the fold as well.
RAMS ROOKIES
Suffolk women's basketball's roster will have five new faces on it in 2024-25 head coach Ed Leyden announced.
The group is comprised of four true freshmen in Rana Alahdab, Isabella Fiorillo, Khaya Skene and Tatiana Tune, and one sophomore Karsyn Bellomo. Position wise, there are three guards – Alahdab, Bellomo and Fiorillo – and two forwards, Skene and Tune.

GEOGRPAHY 101
Five players hail from New York, four call Massachusetts home, a trio of New Hampshire residents and a pair of Connecticut products. Rhode Island and Vermont is represented by one student-athlete apiece and one Ram flew in from Turkey.
CLASS CATEGORIES
The eight-member sophomore class makes the majority of the Rams' roster with four true freshmen a pair of juniors and seniors and one grad student.
POSITION PLAUDITS
Position wise, the Rams' roster features 10 guards, six forwards and one swing player.
RAMS RINGLEADERS
Suffolk women's basketball's head coach Ed Leyden has unveiled that senior Maddie Stewart will take the reigns as captain for the 2024-25 season.

COACH'S CORNER
Ed Leyden returns to lead Suffolk for his 31st season. During his time on the court, Leyden has led the Rams to 28 straight conference post-season tournaments and has coached 15 of the Rams' 18 1,000-point scorers including
the program's all-time leading scorer, Jenni-Rose DiCecco.
Assisting the legendary head coach are first-year assistant coaches Lauren Romito and Ava Salti.
TIP-OFF
- Suffolk is 22-19 all-time in season openers and 18-12 under head coach Ed Leyden.
- Last season defeated Emerson, 67-51, to enter the win column in game one for the first time since besting Emerson, 74-42 to get the 2021-22 season underway.
- Suffolk will play on neutral hardwood in game one for the first time since 2015-16 when it played Maine Farmington at the Emerson Tip-Off Tournament. The Rams defeated the Beavers, 62-48, in that neutral site season opener.
- The Rams own an 8-7 ledger in game one at a neutral site.
- The blue-and-gold is 4-3 when flipping the page on the calendar at the friendly confines of the Ridgeway Building.
- On the road, the Rams are 10-9 in the first contest of a campaign.
PRESEASON POSITION
Suffolk women's basketball has been projected to finish fifth in the 10-team Conference of New England (CNE), per the league's preseason coaches' poll.

PILGRIMS POINTS
New England College was a .500 team a year ago (13-13) and ended its year in the GNAC Quarterfinals with an 86-67 setback to Albertus Magnus.
Amya Moss is the top returner with 9.5 ppg and 2.3 rpg. Macy Gordon is also back on the Pilgrims rosteraafter supplying 5.2 ppg and 1.2 rpg.

MONKS MENTIONABLES
Saint Joseph's (Maine) went 21-8 overall and was unbeaten, 14-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), The 2024 GNAC Champion fell in the first round of the NCAA DIII Tournament at Rhode Island College.
The Monks welcome back a core three players in Angelica Hurley (14.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg), Grace Ramsdell (14.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and Madison Lebel (4.6 rpg, 0.8 bpg).
