Stewart Selected Women’s Basketball Captain's for 2024-25

BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball's head coach Ed Leyden has unveiled that senior Maddie Stewart will take the reigns as captain for the 2024-25 season.

The upperclassman begins her first term in the captain role and is the first Ram to serve in the role solo in the last decade.

Stewart, who hails from Conway, New Hampshire, was back in Suffolk's line-up after a season sidelined due to injury. After seven games where she supplied 7.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, the back court player once again suffered a season-ending injury to lead from the sidelines. She looks to get back on the hardwood this year.

Stewart and the Rams get the 2024-25 season underway this weekend at the Terriers Tip-Off Classic where they will play New England College Saturday, Nov. 9 at 5:00 p.m., before facing off against Saint Joseph's (Maine) Sunday, Nov. 10 at 12:00 p.m.
