BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball takes a four-game win streak into a home-and-home series with Western New England this weekend. The Rams will first make the trip to Springfield, Massachusetts, Friday, March 19 for a 4:30 p.m. tip-off before welcoming the Golden Bears to Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Saturday, March 20 for a 1:00 p.m. match-up.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's basketball escaped a second stanza slump to take a 72-59 victory over Curry Saturday afternoon at Katz Gymnasium. The triumph marks the Rams fourth in a row and helps the blue-and-gold to its best record through six games at 5-1 since 2003-04.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk women's basketball heads into the weekend with its best start in 18 years at 5-1. 

Jenni-Rose DiCecco has proven to be a crucial piece to the puzzle as the floor general leads the Rams in points (13.0), rebounds (8.7), assists (6.0) and steals (2.7) per game. Natalie Fraioli chips in 11.7 points and 5.7 boards per outing with Gabriella DeComo adding 10.2 points to Suffolk's 70.3 offensive output.

RECORD WATCH
Last weekend, Jenni-Rose DiCecco sealed her spot as the Rams' all-time leader in assists and steals. She rewrote the handouts record, which was held by Amber Conte for the past 19 years, and claimed the steal mark, which Lauren Burns had since 2007, in a 71-42 victory over Curry March 12.

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England has traded wins with loses in its weekends with Nichols and Gordon to enter the Suffolk series 2-2. 

Emily Scurka and Julia Quinn have provided the bulk of the offense and defense for the Golden Bears. Scurka leads in the team in scoring with 12.8 ppg to go along with 5.8 rpg, while Quinn anchors the attack on the glass with 6.0 rpg in addition to an 11.3 ppg offensive output.

  • Western New England leveled the all-time series with Suffolk at 6-6 last season behind a 71-52 win over the Rams Nov. 9, 2019
  • The blue-and-gold last defeated WNE Feb. 15, 2007, 64-61.
