Suffolk men's soccer scored poured in six goals led by a two-goal, two-assist effort from Damon Smargon to run past Mass. Maritime, 6-1, Tuesday night at Clean Harbors Stadium.

SUFFOLK SCORES 

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is unbeaten through its last three games to sit 3-2-2 overall. 

The Rams offense has poured in 11 goals over the last three games to bring their season total to 16. Francisco Valckleads the way with four goals, while Luke Blawn and Damon Smargo have both found the back of the net three times. Smargon has also set up a team-high two shots, while 10 other student-athletes have one assist to their credit.  

The blue-and-gold has used three different sets of goalie gloves in Nathan Harlow (2-1-2, 1.20 GAA, .739 save %), Mateu Farre-Torres (0-1-0, 2.00 GAA, .714 save %) and Ian Caldwell (1-0-0, 1.00 GAA, .800 save %).  

SUFFOLK IN CNE DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 2-0-1 in its first CNE game of the season. 
  • The Rams defeated Gordon, 1-0, in its first-ever CNE outing in 2021. 
  • Suffolk went on to tie Nichols, 1-1, in 2022 and shutout Wentworth, 4-0, a year ago. 
  • On the road, the Rams sport a 0-0-1 league-opener ledger. 
  • Suffolk is undefeated, 2-0-0, when playing its first CNE contest of a campaign at home.
  • The blue-and-gold will face Gordon in its first CNE game of the year for the second time, first since 2021. 
  • Two CNE openers in the Rams record book have been decided via shutout, Suffolk's inaugural tilt, a 1-0 victory over Gordon in 2021, and last season's 4-0 cleansheet over Wentworth.  

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon is on a four-game unbeaten streak in which it went 2-0-2 to move to 2-3-2 on the year. 

Moises Montano is the biggest offensive threat with 11 points behind five goals and one helper. Gilbert Daru has an evenly divided six-point stat line between goals (2) and assists (2). Benji Wright has two goals to his credit as well.  

Gunnar Lucuk (1-2-1, 1.25 GAA, .773 save%), Carson Flake (0-1-1, 2.00 GAA, .765 save%) and Isaiah Diaz (1-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .667 save%) have all seen time in et for the Fighting Scots.
