RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk slipped in its midweek matchup at Babson to move to 6-6 on the year. In CCC competition, the Rams are unbeaten, 2-0, after sweeping Nichols in its conference opener a week ago.

Offensively, Harry Painter (23 H, 15 RBI), Jonny Gilbride (22 H, 11 RBI) and Garret Roberts (20 H, 10 RBI) all are hitting over .400 with 20-plus hits and double-digit RBIs each to lead the way. Both Painter and Gilbride have been stealth on the base paths with a team-best six stolen bases apiece.

George Breslin and Roberts will likely receive the nods on Saturday. Breslin holds a 3.09 ERA over 23.1 innings in four appearances, three starts, with 16 strikeouts. Roberts, meanwhile, brings in a 3.86 ERA in 21.0 frames of work with 18 punchouts. Shawn Nosky (1.93 ERA, 4.2 IP, 2 Ks) will likely come out of the pen for the Rams.

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HAWKS
Roger Williams holds a 3-12 overall record and 2-1 CCC mark. Like Suffolk, the Hawks most recently fell to Babson, 4-3 in 10 innings. In conference play, RWU swept Western New England March 26 and slipped at Salve Regina.

Four different bats have surpassed the 10-hit mark anchored by Matt Massaro's 16 hits on a .302 connection rate for eight RBI. The trio of Owen Hibbard (.361), Matt Falvey (.271) and Jack Morin (.265) have 13 hits apiece. Morin has brought in a team-best nine RBI, Hibbard has eight RBI to his credit and Falvey has tallied three RBI.

On the hill, JT Gunzy (3.94 ERA, 16.0 IP, 17 Ks), Matt Hynes (5.00 ERA, 18.0 IP, 19 Ks), and Dan Massaro (7.63 ERA, 15.1 IP, 11 Ks) have all started for the Hawks in league action. From the pen, Tommy Turnbach has proven to be the most successful reliever for RWU with a 2.57 ERA over 7.0 frames with three punchouts.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is 6-9 all-time against Roger Williams after being swept by the Hawks in a doubleheader a year ago.
  • The Rams look to snap a three-game skid versus RWU and take down the Hawks for the first time since a 3-2, 12-inning decision at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational March 13, 2015.
  • Suffolk is 1-4 against RWU in the Anthony Del Prete era.
