BOSTON – In one of the tightest races in recent weeks for Ram of the Week, close to 100 members of Ram Nation chose its best performance by a student-athlete over a seven-day stretch via a Twitter Poll.
AND THE WINNER IS …
In a heated back-and-forth battle between Suffolk's men's and women's soccer teams, Hayley Long earned the title after capturing 49 percent of the 93 votes cast to slip past runner-up Nigel Leo, who picked up 41 percent of the nods.

Long helped the Rams to a 2-0-0 overall week which featured a 4-1 victory over Husson and a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 3-0 shutout over Nichols. The junior supplied offensive outputs in both of the triumphs. First against the Eagles the Exeter, New Hampshire, product had a career-night with a personal-best three-point effort. That performance included one goal and her first assist in a Suffolk jersey. Three days later, she extended her point streak with the game-winning goal over the Bison.
RAM RUNNER-UPS
2ND PLACE – 41% - NIGEL LEO – MEN'S SOCCER
Nigel Leo aided to a 1-0-1 week for the Rams. The senior had a hand in a 0-0, double overtime draw at No. 20 Babson on Tuesday, Oct. 5, before netting the lone goal in a 1-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest against Nichols.
3RD PLACE – 9% - MCKENNA KEOWEN – VOLLEYBALL
McKenna Keowen chipped in to a 1-1 week that featured a sweep of Mitchell. The freshman supplied 4.00 kps behind a .294 attack percentage to go along with 1.55 dps.
4TH PLACE – 1% - MAURO STANCHIERI – MEN'S GOLF
Mauro Stanchieri pushed Suffolk to a seventh place performance at the Blazers Invitational. The freshman shot a 77 (+6) on the first day and an 80 on day two at the Cold Springs Country Club in Belchertown, Massachusetts, to finish with a combined 157 (+15), good for a share of 14th in the field of 69 golfers.
