DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Juniors Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse put together top-10 performances to lead thea Suffolk women's cross country team at the 46th annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational on the Robert Dowd Course Saturday afternoon.
The pair cruised through 5k course on the campus of UMass Dartmouth to finish within the top-eight of a 318-runner field, which was comprised of student-athletes from each NCAA Division. Manfra came through the finisher's chute in 18:28.75 to edged Weisse by 0:01:03 to take seventh, while her co-captain counterpart placed eighth, clocking in at 18:29.78.
Manfra and Weisse were two of six Rams on the course Saturday with Mai Linh Vankirk (231 – 22:53.67), Meagan Dyer (254 – 23:37.36), Skyler Spanbauer (264 – 24:06.47) and Natalie Fay (267 – 24:23.47) also sporting the blue-and-gold.
The six Suffolk runners averaged a time of 21:31.21, good for 27th in the field of 32 teams with Brandeis taking home both the team and individual title.
Suffolk now turns its attention to the Purple Valley Classic, which is on the calendar for Saturday, Sept. 22 in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
