Women’s Cross Country Places 13th at Saints Invitational

BOSTON – In its final non-championship race of 2017, Suffolk women's cross country put together a 13th-place showing at the Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel at Boston's Franklin Park Friday, Oct. 13. 

On the third consecutive course, Emma Weisse anchored the Rams pack with the sophomore completing the 5k in 19:42 to finish fifth in a field of 210. Her top-five performance led not only all runners in Suffolk blue-and-gold, but all her conference counterparts representing, Emmanuel, Regis, Johnson & Wales, Rivier, Lasell and Mount Ida. 

Back in the lineup for Suffolk after a four-week injury, Emily Manfra was second the second runner on Suffolk's squad through the finisher's chute, clocking in at 22:13 for 71st. 

Michelle Kearney completed the course in 23:27 with Hannah Masch and Alison Espinola finishing the course in 25:52 and 27:27, respectively, to round out the Rams' point earners. 

Suffolk is back in action Saturday, Oct. 28 as it runs for the conference crown at the 2017 GNAC Championship at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island.
