Feldman Cross Country  Era Opens at Roger Williams Invitational


BOSTON – The new era of Suffolk men's and women's cross country opens up Saturday, Sept. 3 as inaugural Track & Field/Cross Country head coach Will Feldman and the Rams head to the Roger Williams Invitational. The women will race a two-mile bout at Colt State Park at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 5k at 9:30 a.m.

THE COURSE
Both races – the women's two mile and men's 5k – will take place at Colt State Park.

THE FIELD
Overall 18 college and universities from around New England will make the trip to Bristol, Rhode Island, Saturday morning. Joining the Rams at the invite will be Bridgewater State, Curry, Endicott, Gordon, Johnson & Wales, Lesley, Nichols, Norwich, Regis, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams, Salve Regina, Simmons (women only), Saint Joseph' (Conn.) (women only), UMass Dartmouth, Wellesley (women only), Wentworth (women only) and Western New England.

TITLE TUNE-UP
The invitational serves as a preview for the conference championship course as both races – the women's two mile and the men's 5k – will take place at Colt State Park, the site of the 2017 GNAC Championships. The field also features a handful of league competitors in Johnson & Wales, Norwich, Regis, Simmons and Saint Joseph (Conn.).   

AT THE HELM
Will Feldman
makes his Suffolk head coaching debut as the Rams' alum, who is scattered throughout the cross country annals, was named the inaugural Head Coach of Track & Field/Cross Country in the Spring of 2017.   

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk will take a two-week break before heading back out on the competitive circuit. The next time the Rams compete will be Saturday, Sept. 16 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
