Clement Claims CNE Elite 20 Award

BEVERLY, Mass. – Chloe Clement, a junior at Suffolk University, was selected as the recipient of the Conference of New England Elite 20 award for the 2024 CNE Women's Volleyball Championship.

Clement, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, carriers a 3.98 cumulative grade point average (GPA). The Lynn, Massachusetts, native was presented the award by by CNE Commissioner Patrick Colbert and Suffolk University's President Marisa J. Kelly prior to first serve of Tuesday night's CNE First Round match between the fourth-seeded Rams and fifth seed Western New England at Suffolk University's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. 

The CNE Elite 20 award, in its inaugural year, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete, honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standing among their peers. The CNE Elite 20 award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating in the CNE Tournament in each of the league's 20 championships. 

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above, who have participated in their sport for two years with their current instruction, and are an active member on their team's roster. 

Clement is the first-ever recipient across the league for women's volleyball and the first Suffolk student-athlete to take home the distinction across all sports.

On top of her academic achievements, Clement had a standout season on the court. The 5-foot-8 outside hitter had career-high numbers in every category highlighted by 1.89 kills per set, which was good for third on the team. She helped Suffolk to its winningest season in the Rams' record books at 23-7 overall and the fourth-straight CNE postseason berth.
