BOSTON – The fourth-seeded Suffolk volleyball team gets its journey in the 2024 Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament underway Tuesday, Nov. 12 when it hosts fifth seed Western NEW England in the first round at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court at 7:00 p.m.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

RAMS IN THE CNE CROWN CHASE
- Suffolk will make its fourth straight trip to the CNE Tournament in as many years in the league.
- The Rams are the fourth seed in the CNE playoffs for the second time, first since 2022.
- Suffolk will host its second CNE postseason match, first since 2022.
- The blue-and-gold is unbeaten, 1-0, at home in the CNE Tourney as it bested then-fifth seed Salve Regina in a five-set thriller in the 2022 Quarterfinals.

LAST TIME OUT
It was a heated back-and-forth battled between Suffolk women's volleyball and Endicott Saturday at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court the Rams came out on the wrong side of a 3-0 decision in their regular-season finale. The Conference of New England (CNE) contest was determined by set scores 25-22, 25-22 and 28-26.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk fell in its regular-season finale to Endicott in straight sets to move to 23-6 on the year and 5-4 in CNE contests.
McKenna Keowen has paced the Rams' attack all season with 3.26 kills per set (kps). Sami Shore has supplied over 2.00 kps as well with 2.44 kps to her credit. Its Keowen leading the way at the service line as well with 0.65 aces per set. Jayla Martinez split the setter role with 5.80 assists per set and 3.53 assists per set, respectively.
Defensively Morgan Kelsey leads the way with 4.08 dps. Keowen adds 3.32 dps and Shore knocks down 0.71 blocks per set (bps).

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England tripped up Gordon in its regular-season closer, 3-1, to bring a 20-7 overall mark in to Tuesday's First Round. Like Suffolk, the Golden Bears finished 5-4 in CNE action.
Alissa Hawes and Lea Barber provide a one-two punch on the attack with 3.98 kps and 2.38 kps, respectively. Taylor Geist dishes out 9.17 assists per set. Barber (0.54 aces per set) and Geist (0.53 aces per set) are the biggest threats at the service line.
Becca Mayer tops the defensive unit with 4.68 dps. Hawes pitches in 3.62 dps and Barber logs 3.35 dps. Yemayma Molina contributes 0.74 bps.
WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk volleyball entered the Conference of New England (CNE) win column in thrilling fashion as the Rams bested Western New England in five sets Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The conference victory came by set scores 25-22, 25-10, 16-25, 22-25 and 15-10.
In the triumph, McKenna Keowen became the fifth member of Suffolk's 1,000 dig club, second of the second behind Morgan Kelsey, who achieved the feat Wednesday, Sept. 25 versus Hartford. They are the first teammates to hit the milestone achievement in the same season in program history.

INSIDE THE SEREIS
- Suffolk evened the all-time series, which dates back to 2003, with Western New England earlier this season at 6-6. trails the all-time
- The Rams have rattled off five straight wins over the Golden Bears, including the regular-season 3-2 triumph Oct. 9, 2024.
- Three matches have been decided in straight set fashion. Suffolk is 1-2 in such instances. The last sweep came Oct. 13, 2021 in the blue-and-gold's favor.
- Six outing were determined in four sets. Three of Suffolk's wins were 3-1 decisions including the last two meetings.
- The Rams and WNE went to five twice, Sept. 28, 2019 and the last meeting, Oct. 9, 2024. Suffolk won both 3-2 decisions.
- Suffolk is unbeaten, 5-0, versus the Golden Bears in the Scott Blanchard era.
- At home, Suffolk is 4-1 versus WNE.
- On the road the Rams hold a 2-3 record against the Golden Bears.
- The foes have battled at a neutral site twice. Suffolk in 0-2 in such instances.
- In the postseason the foes will meet for the second time overall, first in the CNE Tourney.
- The last and only conference tournament clash between the rivals came in the 2005 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Quarterfinals. That outing saw the fifth-seeded Golden Bears upset the fourth-seeded Rams in straight sets in Boston.
