BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball has an action-packed Saturday, Sept. 21 as the Rams head to Worcester, Massachusetts for a tri-match at Worcester State with Mount Holyoke. The blue-and-gold's day opens at 3:00 p.m. versus the Lyons with a 5:00 p.m. match against the host Lancers wrapping up the action.

McKenna Keowen set another Rams' record as the first-ever player to produce 1,000 kills in Suffolk volleyball's 3-1 triumph over southern Maine Thursday night at Hill Gym.

RAMS RUNDOWN
The Rams ride a four-match win streak to Worcester that put Suffolk at 10-2 on the season.  

McKenna Keowen powers the blue-and-gold's 12.36 kills per set (kps) attack with 3.11 kps of her own. Sami Shore(2.38 kps) and Chloe Clement (2.03 kps) average 2.00-plus kps individually as well. Jayla Martinez is the usual setter for Suffolk with 6.49 assists per set. Aislinn Lanigan routes in as setter and holds 3.55 assists per set. Keowen and Martinez are threats at the service line with 0.67 aces per set and 0.58 aces per set, respectively.  

Morgan Kelsey's 4.22 digs per set (dps) anchors the Rams defensive unit that receives 3.27 dps from Keowen and 0.87 blocks per set by shore.

LYONS LOOK
Mount Holyoke has rattled off four wins in a row to bring a 7-1 record into Saturday.  

Madeline Barton is an offensive force for the Lyons with team-leading numbers in kills (4.07) and aces (0.89) per set. Lucie Berclaz pitches in 2.39 kps to the attack that receives 2.29 kps from Elle Rimando. Sadie Duffrin usually sets up Mt. Holyok's attack with 9.21 assists per set.

Defensively, Kyra Staples' 5.29 dps paces the pack. Berlclaz pitches in 2.79 dps and Katie Frank leads at the net with 0.79 bps.

LANCERS LOOK
Worcester State has lost six straight including four consecutive sweeps to sit 2-8 on the year.  

Angela Colonis is an all-around performer for the Lancers with 1.40 kps, 3.72 assists per set, 0.51 aces per set and 3.31 dps. Both her kills and digs sit second on the squad. Cassidy D'espositio tops the team's attack with 1.84 kps. Katherine Crateau leads the way defensively with 4.35 dps and Kate Stedronsky adds 0.65 bps.

  • Suffolk and Worcester State will meet for the second straight season.
