Kelsey Repeats as CNE Libero of the Week

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk volleyball's Morgan Kelsey was named Conference of New England's Libero of the Week for the second time in as many weeks after averaging 4.22 digs per set in a 3-2 week for the Rams, the league office announced Monday.  

Kelsey etched her name in the Rams' record books to get the week going as she served her 232nd ace in a sweep of Salem State to become the program's all-time leader in aces. In that straight set decision over the Vikings she notched a pair of aces to go along with 10 digs and three helpers. 

To get the Crosstown Challenge underway at Union, the Parker, Colorado, native produced eight digs and one helper and followed that performance with a 27-dig, six-assist, three-ace effort versus Skidmore.  

In the 3-0 victory against Sage, the senior provided 17 digs, two helpers and two aces and wrapped up the week with a 14-dig, two-ace and two-assist effort in the 3-1 triumph over Oswego. 

The weekly recognition is Kelsey's second straight in as many weeks and marks the fifth of her collegiate career. The libero is the only Ram to be recognized with a weekly distinction this season. 

Kelsey and the Rams are back at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 17 when they entertain Framingham State in a 7:00 p.m. match.
