
ALBANY, N.Y. – Suffolk volleyball concluded its time at the Crosstown Challenge with a 3-1 triumph over SUNY Oswego Saturday afternoon at the Kahl Campus Center.
The Rams went 2-2 in upstate New York over the last two days.
THE BASICS

RECORDS: Suffolk (8-2) | SUNY Oswego (4-5)
SET ONE (25-22, SUFFOLK)
- Down 11-10, Suffolk scored two quick points to take the lead 12-11.
- The scored would tie nine times from there was the last at 21-all.
- The Rams rallied at the end with a 4-1 run to secure the opening set.
SET TWO (25-21, SUFFOLK)
- The Rams trail by six at the midway point, 15-9.
- Suffolk sprung back with a 9-3 run to lock things at 18-18.
- The teams traded points and evened things up three more times before the Rams closed the set with four answered to go up 2-0 in the match.
SET THREE (25-22, SUNY OSWEGO)
- The Lakers leapt out to an 11-3 advantage.
- Suffolk pulled back within four, 13-9.
- A 4-1 SUNY Oswego stretch gave the host a 17-10 advantage.
- Five straight Suffolk points made things interesting and trimmed the gap to two, 17-15.
- The back-and-forth affair continued. First Oswego went on a 4-1 spurt and Suffolk responded with four straight to cut the distance down to one, 21-20.
- SUNY Oswego controlled things the rest of the way to force a fourth frame.
SET FOUR (25-18, SUFFOLK)
- Once again Suffolk played from behind in the fourth, 4-2.
- A 6-1 Rams run gave the visitors an 8-5 edge that blossomed into a 14-9 upperhand.
- The blue-and-gold kept its foot on the gas pedal to build a comfortable 20-12 cushion.
- The Lakers attempted a comeback and managed to get within three, 20-17, thanks to five consecutive points.
- Suffolk outscored SUNY Oswego 5-1 the rest of the way to take home the victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- McKenna Keowen poured in 19 kills on an impressive .654 attack percentage to go along with three digs, three aces and one assist.
- Sami Shore added eight kills on a .368 connection rate with one helper.
- Grace Cervenka had six kills, two digs and one ace to her credit.
- Jayla Martinez and Aislinn Lanigan shared the setter role with 26 assists and 15 assists, respectively.
- Morgan Kelsey anchored the backline with 14 digs. She chipped in two assist and two aces as well.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk tangled with SUNY Oswego for the first time.
