BEVERLY, Mass. – Morgan Kelsey of the Suffolk women's volleyball team was tabbed Conference of New England's Libero of the Week after anchoring the Rams defense with 4.91 digs per set in a 3-0 week.
The senior from Parker, Colorado started the week with a 24-dig, for-assist, one-ace effort in the 3-1 win at Dean. She followed that out with 12 digs and three handouts in the sweep of Rutgers Newark before providing 18 digs, three helpers, one ace and one kill to the 3-1 victory over Eastern Connecticut State.
Kesey has been a crucial component to Suffolk's success that has seen the Rams off to the best known start in program history at 5-0. She supplied a team-best 4.56 digs per set to the team's defensive unit, that has limited foes to 8.22 kps.
The weekly award is the first for Suffolk volleyball this season. It is the first time that a Ram scooped up a weekly award since Kelsey was named the conference's best libero over a seven-day stretch October 3, 2023. The weekly distinction marks Kelsey's fourth of her collegiate career.
Kelsey and the Rams return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 10 when Salem State stops by Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a 7:00 p.m.
