LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball returned to Commonwealth Coast Conference play in sweeping fashion as the Rams rolled past Curry, 3-0, Tuesday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The league win came via set scores 25-18, 25-14 and 25-18.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk returned to the win column Tuesday night with a straight set win over Curry to sit 11-7 on the season and 2-0 in CCC contests.  

The Rams' 10.98 kps offense is paced by McKenna Keowen's 2.54 kps with Jessica Weber's 2.40 kps following closely behind. The twosome of Jayla Martinez (4.86 aps) and Aislinn Lanigan (3.70 aps) have shared the setter role for Suffolk. Keowen adds 0.73 aces per set, while Morgan Kelsey pitches in 0.70 aces per set. 

Kelsey's 4.10 dps leads the defense that receives 3.08 dps from Keowen and 2.68 dps by Tatum KaltGrace Cervenka and Sami Shore anchor the effort at the net with 0.68 bps each. 

LIONS LOOK
Emerson has fallen in back-to-back matches – a 3-0 defeat against Springfield and a 3-1 setback at MIT – to bring a 9-6 ledger across Boston Commons.  

Three everyday starters for the Lions log over 2.00 kps in Amelia Combs (2.94), Parker Cummings (2.78) and Brooke Maynez (2.25) to be the main factorsin the team's 11.56 kps attack. Combs is also a threat from the service line with a team-best 0.72 aces per set. Mia Rodriguez and Shannon Clark share the setter role with 5.51 aps and 4.36 aps, respectively. 

Caroline Davis' 4.57 dps paces the defense that sees Combs supply 2.54 dps and 1.03 bps by Isabella Cubba.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2004, Suffolk is 2-14 all-time versus Emerson. 
  • Emerson has won a baker's dozen straight matches over Suffolk, including 12 consecutive in straight sets. 
  • One of Suffolk's victories over the Lions came in four sets, while the other was a sweep. 
  • The Rams and Lions have needed four sets to determine a winner just once, which Suffolk won. 
  • Suffolk and Emerson went the distance once, in 2006. The Rams fell in that thriller.
