BEVERLY, Mass. – Morgan Kelsey of the Suffolk volleyball team picked up CCC Libero of the Week after leading the Rams defense in a 1-1 week.
The junior from Parker, Colorado began the week with a 23-dig, two-ace effort in a 3-1 setback to Eastern Nazarene. She followed that up with a 17-dig, four-assist, one-ace performance in the Rams' 3-2 comeback thrilling triumph at Nichols. The victory marked the first time the blue-and-gold pulled the curtain back on its league ledger in the win column.
The weekly recognition is Kelsey's second of her career, first since she was tabbed the best rookie over a seven-day stretch Sept. 20, 2021. She is the first Suffolk student-athlete honored by the conference since Grace Cervenka collected rookie of the week status Oct. 31, 2022 and Kelsey's Libero of the Week nod is the first for a Ram since Kenzley Bell took home the award Oct. 17, 2022.
Kelsey and the Rams return to action tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 26 when they host Southern Maine at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court at 7 p.m.
