
BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball saw its five-match win streak come to an end Tuesday night as Eastern Nazarene took down the Rams, 3-1, at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams won a hard fought first frame, 25-23, to get on the board first. The Lions leapt back with a convincing 25-14 second stanza win to level the playing field.
From a 9-all tie in the third, ENC took control with an 11-4 rally that put the visitors ahead, 20-13. Suffolk surged back with an 8-3 stretch to chip the deficit down to three, 24-21. Eastern Nazarene grabbed the set behind Maria Clarabunch's kill to take a 2-1 advantage in the match.
Suffolk led 14-9 before the Lions clawed back with five unanswered points. The score evened twice more with the last at 16-all. From there, ENC rattled off five consecutive points to put the Rams in a hole they couldn't climb out of despite pulling within two, 24-22, down the stretch.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- McKenna Keowen put together a 13-kill, 12-dig double-double that went along with three blocks, two aces, and two assists.
- Sami Shore supplied eight kills on a .300 hitting percentage and chipped in one block.
- Jasmine James added four kills.
- Aislinn Lanigan and Jayla Martinez dished out 17 assists each. Lanigan logged nine digs as well to be one dig shy of a double-double.
- Morgan Kelsey registered 23 digs and two aces.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk moved to 3-2 against ENC in Boston.
- The Rams and Lions went four sets for the fifth time, first since Oct. 5, 2013.
- Keowen notched her eighth collegiate double-double, third of the season.
