
FRANKLIN, Mass. – Suffolk volleyball wrapped up its third straight victory with a 3-0 over Dean Thursday Night at Pieri Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk burst out to an 8-1 edge that quickly blossomed into a 13-1 advantage. The Bulldogs battle back came in short spurts, but the Rams early lead paid off to lock up the set, 25-15.
The blue-and-gold poured in the first four points of the second set to gain momentum once again that saw Suffolk with a comfortable 19-10 cushion. Dean rattled off six unanswered points to chip the deficit down to three, 19-16. A timeout by the Rams helped as they came out of the huddle with a set-ending 5-2 run.
An even opening in the third saw Suffolk in front, 9-6. Six straight points by the Rams pushed the distance to 15-6 in the blue-and-gold's favor. Back-and-forth action kept the lead with the visitors, 21-15. Suffolk sealed the set and match win by putting up four consecutive points.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Sami Shore supplied 11 kills on a .625 attack percentage with three blocks.
- McKenna Keowen had an all-around outing with 13 digs, eight kills, one ace and one block.
- Grace Cevernka and Jasmine James added five kills each.
- Jayla Martinez took on the bulk of the setting role with 22 assists to go along with two digs.
- Morgan Kelsey pitched in 10 digs, six aces, and two handouts.
NOTEWORTHY
- The Rams won three in a row for the first time this season and first time since it strung seven victories together Oct. 12-Nov. 1, 2022.
- Suffolk remains unbeaten, 2-0, all-time against Dean in a series that started a year ago.
- Both victories over the Bulldogs have come via shutout.
- Suffolk competed at Dean for the first time to move to 1-0 on the road versus the Bulldogs.
- Shore registered a career-high in kills (11) and attack percentage (.625).
WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk hosts its first tri-match of the season Saturday, Sept. 16 when Keene State and Worcester State pay Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court a visit. The Rams will face the Owls at 11 a.m., before concluding the day at 3 p.m. against the Lancers.
