SANDUSKY, Ohio – Suffolk volleyball wrapped up its time at the Great Lakes Cross Over Tournament with a four-set setback to the host Heidelberg Saturday. The 3-1 defeat came via set scores 15-25, 25-10, 25-21 and 25-17.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk stormed out of the gates to grab a 1-0 lead in the match as it took the first set 25-10. Heidelberg responded by winning the second set by an identical score to even the match at 1-1.
The host handled things in a back-and-forth third and kept the Rams at bay in the fourth to lock things up.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Jasmine James led Suffolk's attack with eight kills.
- McKenna Keowen had seven kills, nine digs, two aces, one assist and one block for an all-around performance.
- Jessica Weber and Grace Cervenka added six kills apiece.
- Jayla Martinez and Aislinn Lanigan set up the attack with 17 assists and 11 handouts, respectively.
- Martinez added five digs, two kills and one ace.
- Lanigan logged six digs and two aces as well.
- Morgan Kelsey handled the backline with 13 digs to go along with two aces and a pair of assists.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk met Heidelberg for the first time.

Suffolk returns to Boston where it is scheduled to lift the lid on its home schedule Tuesday, Sept. 5 against MIT. First serve at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court is set for 6:00 p.m.
