
BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball capped off its Dig Pink tri-match with a convincing straight set victory over Fitchburg State. The Rams took down the Falcons via set scores 25-12, 25-16 and 25-12. There is still time to help the blue-and-gold raise funds for Breast Cancer, here.

SET ONE RECAP (25-12, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk jumped out to a 7-1 lead.
- The Falcons flew back and pulled within two, 10-8.
- The Rams found their grove again and a 5-1 run gave the host a 15-9 advantage, which forced Fitchburg into a timeout.
- Out of the huddle, Harmony Johnson took control as the senior captain served five unanswered points, four in a row came off Johnson's serve alone, and the Falcons used their second time out of the set down, 20-9.
- Fitchburg State put a pair of points together after the timeout.
- That would not be enough to stop Suffolk, who closed the set on a 5-1 run.

- An 8-3 Suffolk advantage bloomed into a 13-9- Rams cushion at the midway point.
- A 4-1 Suffolk stretch turned it into a 17-10 score and Fitchburg State used a timeout.
- The Falcons may have scored on the first rally, but it was Suffolk who heated up as the host took a 10-point gap, 21-11.
- The playing field evened out as the teams traded points. Luckily for the blue-and-gold the cushion built proved to be enough.

- Suffolk leaped ahead, 11-3.
- The Falcons fought back and trimmed the gap down to five, 13-8.
- The Rams limited Fitchburg State to just four points the rest of the way.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Jess Weber registered seven kills and three digs.
- McKenna Keowen contributed six kills and four digs.
- Jasmine James added five kills and one dig.
- Johnson dished out 16 handouts and served six aces.
- Morgan Kelsey had four aces and four digs to her credit, respectively.
- Kenzley Bell backstopped the defense with 15 digs. She added two assists ne two aces.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk remains unbeaten all-time against Fitchburg State, 2-0.
- Both battles between the Rams and Falcons have taken place in Boston.
