BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball swept Emmanuel in non-conference action Monday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court to wrap up its non-conference schedule in the win column. The victory came by set scores 25-17, 25-1 and 25-21.
THE BASICS

SET ONE RECAP (25-17, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk put the first three points on the board before Emmanuel came back to level the playing field at 4-all.
- It turned into a game of runs from there and a Rams 5-0 rally put the hosts ahead 9-4.
- That advantage stayed put at the midway point, 14-8, which forced the Saints into a timeout.
- Emmanuel gained momentum out of the break and pulled within two, 15-13.
- Seven unanswered points from Suffolk gave the blue-and-gold a nine-point, 22-13 edge.
- The Saints responded with four points in a row of their own to pull within five, 22-17.
- It was all Suffolk from there as they rattled off the last three points with two McKenna Keowen kills sandwiched around a kill from Alina Nowakowkis to seal the set.
SET TWO RECAP (25-15, SUFFOLK)
- Up 6-3, Suffolk scored the next six to take a hefty advantage, 12-3. The scoring frenzy featured back-to-back aces from Kenzley Bell.
- The Saints tried to catchup, however, the Rams built a comfortable 10-point cushion, 17-7.
- Through back-and-forth action Suffolk's double-digit distance paid off and denied every Emmanuel comeback attempt.
SET THREE RECAP (25-21, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk found itself in a 5-2 hole.
- Out of its own timeout, the Rams poured in six straight points to flip the script and take a two-point gap, 8-6.
- That lead extended to an 11-8 margin, which forced Emmanuel into a timeout.
- Things stayed close the rest of the way and even tied up three more times with the last coming at 17-all.
- Suffolk never let go of the lead it worked for though and hung on for the sweep.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Keowen supplied a 14-kill, 15-dig double-double with a pair of aces, one assist and block, respectively.
- Nowakowski was on the verge of double-digit kills with nine to her credit behind a .375 attack percentage.
- Emily Wheeler supplied seven kills to the Rams' 38-kill attack.
- Harmony Johnson (16 assists) and Jayla Martinez (13 assists) set up the offense. The former chipped in seven digs, while the latter added a pair of kills.
- Bell had 12 digs, three aces and three handouts to her credit.
- Suffolk limited Emmanuel to a 0.57 attack percentage.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk defeated Emmanuel for the fourth straight match to move to 4-15 since 2003 against the Saints.
- The Rams swept the Saints for just the second time, first since 2017.
- Suffolk is unbeaten, 3-0, all-time against Emmanuel under Scott Blanchard's guidance.
- Keowen notched her eight double-double of the year.

Suffolk concludes its home calendar Wednesday, Oct. 27 when it entertains Curry at 7 p.m.
