WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Suffolk volleyball fell to Rivier in straight sets, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the O'Connell Center. The Rams setback came by set scores 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.
THE BASICS

SET ONE RECAP (25-22, RIVIER)
- Suffolk fell behind 10-6 early on, forcing Blanchard to use his first timeout of the set.
- The Raiders held onto their four-point cushion for the majority of the frame, including at 20-16.
- A Rams run never came as the Raiders closed out the set.
SET TWO RECAP (25-13, RIVIER)
- Four ties were featured over the first five points of the stanza.
- Suffolk found itself down, 5-3, and responded with two straight points to knot the set at five.
- The Raiders went on an 8-3 run, resulting in a Rams timeout.
- Rivier continued to cruise out of the huddle to build a 17-9 advantage.
- Suffolk continued to hang around with the Raiders, but not for long as the visitors surged ahead and outscored the Rams 8-4 to secure the set.
SET THREE RECAP (25-21, RIVIER)
- Suffolk trailed 4-0 early on.
- A Rams 5-1 run, which ended with a kill by Kaleigh Khanna, tied the set at 5-all.
- The Raiders responded to the Suffolk run with one of their own to take a 10-6 advantage, forcing a Suffolk timeout.
- Out of the break, the Rams rattled off three straight points to cut the Raiders deficit to 10-9.
- Rivier responded with a 7-1 run to build a 17-10 lead, culminating in another Suffolk timeout.
- Reinvigorated, the Rams clawed back with a 6-3 run of their own, cutting the lead to 4, 20-16.
- The blue and gold did not pull any closer the remainder of the way and Rivier went on to capture the set and match.
STATISICALLY SPEAKING
- Kenzley Bell had an all around solid day with three kills, seven assists, and six digs.
- Kayla Barbera delivered seven kills and three digs.
- Sarah Mullahy registered six kills, two aces, and one block.
- Harmony Johnson posted an 18-assist; three dig effort.
- Hannah Fabiano chipped in with nine kills and three digs,
COMING UP
Suffolk concludes its non-conference calendar Tuesday, Oct. 29 with a trip to Rhode Island College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
