BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball travels across Beantown Tuesday, Sept. 24 to take on Wentworth in a non-conference match. First serve from Tansey Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball posted a sweep of Castleton Saturday afternoon to end a home tri-match at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court with a pair of wins. The third consecutive straight set victory for the Rams came by set scores 25-13, 25-17, and 25-7.

RAMS REVIEW
Suffolk comes in on a three-match win streak, posting a 3-1 record in its latest homestand. Overall, the Rams come into Tuesday's competition with a 9-4 record.  

Hannah Fabiano leads the Rams' attack with 2.59 kps, while Kayla Barbera and Sarah Mullahy provide 2.15 kps and 2.00 kps, respectively. Harmony Johnson sets up Suffolk's offense with 8.11 aps.

Bell, who chips in 2.02 aps to the offense paces the defense with 4.39 dps to her credit. Dakhensey Marcellus (3.07 dps) and Barbara (2.44 dps) are also consistent contributors on the defense end. Mullahy's 0.40 bps leads the effort at the net.

LEOPARDS LOOK IN
Wentworth heads into Tuseday's tilt at 7-4 on the year after sweeping Suffolk's GNAC counterpart Emmanuel Saturday. 

The Leopards offense is led by the senior tandem who each average over 3.00 kps in Leah Rogoz (3.37) and Claire Quick (3.32). Rookies Jordan Chapman and Chaise Kakuk have split setting responsibitlities this season, handing out 6.6 aps and 3.48 aps, respectively.  

Defensively, Lexie Cambray's 3.23 dps is top on the team. Quick (3.87 aps) and Rogoz (3.58 aps) fall right behind and Jade Iadarola adds 3.00 aps to the defensive effort.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2002, Suffolk trails the all-time series 2-11.
  • The Rams have fallen in nine straight matches against Wentworth with the last blue-and-gold win over the Leopards coming in four sets in 2005.
  • Seven matches were decided in straight set with one of Suffolk's wins ending in a clean sheet (2003).
  • Four contests went four sets with the Rams holding a 1-3 mark in such outings.
  • A match has never needed five sets to determine a winner.

LACE UP FOR PEDIATRIC CANCER
This Saturday, Sept. 28, the Suffolk volleyball team will Lace Up for Pediatric Cancer as the Rams host Norwich and Western New England in tri-match at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The Rams will be lacing up their sneakers in gold for the pair of awareness contests.
