
BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball posted a sweep of Castleton Saturday afternoon to end a home tri-match at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court with a pair of wins. The third consecutive straight set victory for the Rams came by set scores 25-13, 25-17, and 25-7.

SET ONE RECAP (25-13, SUFFOLK)
- Both teams opened the frame trading points to put the score at 3-all.
- Seven straight points by the Rams behind the service of Kenzley Bell made it a lopside 10-4 Suffolk score.
- A 5-0 streak by the blue-and-gold was followed up by four consecutive points from the hosts that sealed the stanza, 25-13.
SET TWO RECAP (25-17, SUFFOLK)
- Suffolk would hold a lead as large as eight, 14-6, before Castleton went on a spurt of its own.
- The Spartans would slice the score to two points,before Scott Blanchard called his squad over to discuss things.
- Following the timeout, Suffolk would close the set on a 10-4 run, which was capped off by Emerson Martin's standout serving abilities with a pair of aces to the rookie's credit during the Rams' rally.

- Suffolk built itself a comfortable 10-5 cushion before going on a tear that would put the match away.
- With Sarah Mullahy serving, the Rams rattled off 10 consecutive points to put the set out of reach.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Dakhensey Marcellus and Bell paced the Rams on defense, each with 12 digs.
- Kayla Barbera and Martin led the attack, each contributing eight kills. Barbera pitched in to the defensive unit with six digs and one block.
- Harmony Johnson posted 33 assists on the afternoon, helping on the majority of the Rams' 37 kills.
- Stephanie Rheaume stood tall at the net with two total blocks on the afternoon to go along with an offensive output of six kills.
- Mullahy came up with four services aces, while Suffolk served 13 as a squad.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk met Castleton for the second time in program history, first since 2012.
- The Rams remain unbeaten all-time against the Spartans, improving to 2-0.
- The blue-and-gold have swept Castleton in each of the series meetings.
- Suffolk has won its last three matches by a score of 3-0. The Rams last achieved this feat a year ago in 2018 with three successive sweeps over St. Joseph (Conn.), Anna Maria, and Curry Oct. 10-13.
- Martin finished with a career-best eight kills.
- Rheaume matched a career-high six kills.
- Mullahy matched a personal-best four aces.
