BOSTON – The Suffolk women's volleyball team makes the short time across town for a tri-match at conference foe Emmanuel. The Rams and Saints will tangle in the first match of the day at 10 a.m., with the blue-and-gold wrapping up action at 12 p.m. versus the University of New England.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk volleyball team dropped an out-of-league outing in straight sets to Framingham State at the Athletic Center Thursday night. The defeat came by set scores 25-21, 25-12 and 25-15.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk dropped back-to-back outings in straight sets to fall to 3-11 overall. The Rams, who have been out of conference contests for the last three matches, boasts a 1-3 league ledger. 

Hannah Fabiano leads Suffolk's attack with 2.14 kps with Kayla Barbera also producing over 2.00 kps with 2.07 kps to her credit. Talia Lombardo (6.97 aps) and Meg Kerek (3.64 aps) have split time as the Rams' setter. 

Dakhensey Marcellus holds down the defensive effort behind 4.33 dps with Barbera and Emma Feeney helping with 2.54 dps and 2.13 dps, respectively.

SAINTS SAYINGS
Emmanuel sits .500 (7-7) on the season and 4-1 in league play. 

Mary Shelow's impressive 3.04 kps anchors the Saints' 10.02 kps attack with the senior outside hitter hitting at a .225 connection rate. Marissa Catalado adds 2.74 kps to the offense. Carly Church has served as Emmanuel's primary setter, dishing out 8.23 assists per set.

The Saints defense is paced by Katharine Journeay's 4.87 dps with Casey Sheehan (3.23 dps) and Anna Caristi (0.50 bps) contributing to the effort.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk captured its first win over Emmanuel in the all-time series last year as the Rams swept the Saints.
  • Overall, the blue-and-gold is 1-15 versus Emmanuel since 2003.
  • Emmanuel has swept the Rams in 12 of its 15 wins.

NOR'EASTER NOTES
UNE is on a five-match skid that put the Nor'Easters at 4-12 on the year. 

Rene Roggenbuck and Katie Flynn led the way offensively. The former has 2.62 kps to her credit, while the latter brings in 2.15 kps. Sydney Christiansen has maintained setting responsibilities with 7.57 assists per set. 

Flynn is also prominent defensively with 3.15 dps with Katie Marsh's 4.69 dps leading the way.

  • Suffolk and UNE met once in 2006 when the Nor'Easters downed the Rams in straight sets.
