BOSTON – The Suffolk women's volleyball team caps off a four-match homestand Tuesday, Oct. 2 night when Wentworth stops by Regan Gymnasium for non-conference action. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk volleyball team took a 2-0 advantage and held off a Mass. Martime comeback to secure a 3-1 non-conference win to wrap up the Rams' first home tri-match of the season Saturday afternoon inside Regan Gymnasium. The victory came via set scores 25-9, 25-15, 20-25 and 25-14.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk snapped  a five-match skid to return to the win column and move to 3-9 on the season. 

The dynamic duo of Hannah Fabiano and Kayla Barbera continue to pace Suffolk's offense. Fabiano leads the way with 2.47 kps with Barbera's 2.26 kps falling in a close second. Chidera Nwankwo is creeping on the 2.00 kps line with the senior adding 1.90 kps. Meg Kerek took over setting responsibilities over the weekend and enters Tuesday's tilt with 3.56 assists per set.

Dakhensey Marcellus holds down the Rams' defense with 4.32 dps with Barbera (2.40 dps) and Emma Feeney (2.21 dps) pitching in to the effort.

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth holds a 13-2 overall mark and rides a seven-match win streak into Tuesday night. 

Leah Rogoz is an offensive force for the Leopards with the junior outside hitting contributing 3.80 kps to the team's 12.31 kps attack. Classmate Claire Quick provides 2.53 kps and rookie Jade Iadarola adds 1.94 kps. Katie Clouse (5.51 aps) and Maddy Tomastik (4.53 aps) have split time as Wentworth's setter. 

Defensively, Lexie Cambray's 4.52 dps lead the way with Quick adding 3.92 dps and Makenna Salsbury pacing the pack at the net with 0.71 bps.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2002, Suffolk trails the all-time series 2-10.
  • The Rams have fallen in eight straight outings against Wentworth with the last blue-and-gold win over the Leopards coming in four sets in 2005.
  • Six matches were decided in straight set with one of Suffolk's wins ending in a clean sheet (2003).
  • Four contests went four sets with the Rams holding a 1-3 mark in such outings.
  • A match has never needed five sets to determine a winner.
