
STANDISH, Maine – Meg Kerek notched career bests Saturday afternoon, but the rookie's career day would not be enough as Suffolk volleyball dropped a straight set decision to Framingham State at Saint Joseph's (Maine)'s Harold Alfond Center. The non-conference setback came by set scores 25-6, 25-20 and 25-5.

SET ONE RECAP (25-6, FRAMINGHAM STATE)
- Suffolk put the first two points on the board thanks to back-to-back aces by Rachel Fancy.
- It was all Framingham State from there as FSU took a 17-4 lead and turned that into a 25-6 first frame victory.
SET TWO RECAP (25-20, FRAMINGHAM STATE)
- Four ties and a pair lead changes were exchanged in the second stanza.
- FSU grabbed the final lead and remained in front at 10-11.
- The blue-and-gold was outscored 6-3 to fall behind 19-13.
- Suffolk made up ground thanks to a 5-1 run to pull within two, 20-18.
- Down the stretch, FSU outscored Suffolk 5-2 to lock up the second set win, 25-20.
SET THREE RECAP (25-5, FRAMINGHAM STATE)
- Suffolk fell in a 15-3 hole and could not dig itself out of it as FSU cruised to a 25-5 third frame win to seal the sweep.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Kerek led Suffolk's offense with seven kills with the rookie adding nine digs.
- Leah Pedersen recorded four kills and two handouts.
- Rachel Fancy had a well-balanced performance with 13 assists, nine digs, a pair of aces and kills, respectively, as well as one block.
- Dakhensey Marcellus paced the blue-and-gold's defensive unit with 17 digs.
NOTEWORTHY
- Kerek produced career bests in kills (7) and digs (9).
