Fabiano Takes Home GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Coming off a 3-0 GNAC week for Suffolk volleyball, Hannah Fabiano has been recognized by the conference as GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week. The accolade comes on the heels of a 2.72 kps and 2.36 dps week by the freshman.

Fabiano is the first Ram to take home a league weekly honor in the Bonny Ducharme era and first since Tori Brillaud and Savannah Carpenter were named the conference's best player and rookie, respectively, over a seven day stretch Sept. 16, 2013.

The Litchfield, New Hampshire, native started the week in Suffolk's thrilling sweep over Emmanuel. In the Rams' first-ever win over the Saints, put together nine kills and nine digs with a pair of aces and a pair of blocks.

In a sweep over Anna Maria, Fabiano notched seven kills, six digs and a career-best three aces. The middle hitter capped off the stellar week with her third collegiate double-double, a 14-kill, 11-dig effort, in the thrilling 3-2 win over Albertus Magnus.  She also matched her career highs in aces (3) and blocks (3) in the victory.

Fabiano's effort helped Suffolk to a three-match win streak, marking the longest league winning streak for the blue-and-gold since it strung four conference victories together Oct. 19-29, 2005.

Suffolk is back in action Wednesday, Oct. 4 when the Rams entertain Lasell. The 7 p.m. conference contest opens a four-match homestand for Suffolk.
