BOSTON – The Suffolk volleyball team looks to extend its four-match win streak Thursday, Sept. 21 as the Rams visit Gordon for a 7 p.m. match at the Bennett Center.

LAST TIME OUT
For the first time this season, the Suffolk volleyball team put together a straight set victory as the Rams swept Pine Manor Tuesday night inside Regan Gymnasium. Suffolk pushed its win streak to four thanks to set scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-18.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk rides a four-match win streak into Thursday's tilt, which pushed the Rams' record to 5-3, the best mark for the blue-and-gold through eight matches in the Rams' record books, which dates back to the 2003 season. 

Hannah Fabiano's 2.76 kps off a .385 hitting percentage paces Suffolk's offense with Talia Lombardo adding 2.00 kps and 2.76 assists per set. Liz Kerek and Rachel Fancy have a hand in the Rams' offense as well with the senior and junior dishing out 4.17 and 3.29 assists per set, respectively. 

Defensively, Fabiano once again is at the top of Suffolk's list with 2.72 dps. Emma Feeney contributes 2.72 dps with Chidera Nwankwo's 0.88 bps holding down the net.

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon rides a five-match win streak, which dates back to Sept. 9, into Thursday night. The 7-5 Fighting Scots, have taken down Maine Maritime (3-0), Simmons (3-2), Curry (3-1), Bridgewater State (3-0) and Wheaton (3-2) during their streak. 

Amanda Snyder's impressive 3.43 kps is the force behind the Fighting Scots attack. Mackenzie Hinds adds 2.51 kps to Gordon's offense, which is primarily set up by Ashlyn Gergin's 7.00 aps.   

Jnney Curtiss paces Gordon defensively with 4.44 dps with Snyder and Janel Hicks pitching in 2.57 dps and 1.00 bps, respectively.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Thursday's match marks the seventh meeting all-time versus in the Rams and Fighting Scots.
  • Suffolk trails the all-time series, 2-4.
  • Both of the blue-and-gold's victories over Gordon came in straight sets in 2010 and 2013, respectively.
  • Four matches were decided in sweeps. Suffolk is 2-2 in such decisions.
